What is a Discovery Bible Study?
We enter into conversations and relationships on a level playing field. People matter, so we seek to show love and respect to everyone who comes. The Bible passage/story is our conversational guide and we look at it with fresh eyes and perspectives, guided by discovery questions and open dialogue.
Discovery Bible Studies are not a typical “Bible study”. The goal is to build communities where people come together and feel safe enough to engage in conversations no matter what their previous knowledge of the Bible is. No prep. No pressure. No need to pretend you have it all together.
What to Expect
Gatherings are simple:
- 1 hour together – We eat together, read a passage or story from the Bible, discuss it, and close in a simple prayer!
- No preparation required – We read the Scripture of the day from the Daily Lectionary (view calendar) or from the DiscoverApp.org
- Everyone participates as they’re comfortable – You’re welcome to just listen, or to share freely
- Bring a friend – All are welcomed, regardless of where they are in their faith journey
We use the phrase “I believe…” rather than “we believe…” because we honor that each person may interpret or view the passage differently. You’re free to agree, disagree, or simply wonder aloud. But at all times, honor and respect are shown. There is no Spiritual Authority other than the text/passage of the day.

As we read together, we focus on what we discover about:
