Now that is inspiring

Yesterday I had the privilege of sitting down for a cup of coffee with a friend of mine.  She said she wanted some advice about some of the things she was encountering at her job.  I had no idea what to expect, but I was honored that she wanted to share these things with me.

First she shared with me how God has been working in her husbands workplace.  They were praying that his character and beliefs would be recognized by others.  They were praying that God would expand his influence.  She sat beaming with joy as she shared that God had answered their prayers.  He was just given more responsibility.

She then moved on to share with me about her workplace.  Her heart was breaking because sin is reigning.  She was struggling to understand what her role is as a follower of Jesus.  Her fellow employees have not been treating one another with love or respect.  They have pulled their customers into the mix and things have just gotten ugly.

Can you relate to workplace like this?
Do you work in a place where it is just difficult to know what to do as a follower of Jesus?
Then be inspired by this:

As we talked she shared with me that her boss, coworkers, and customers matter to her.  She shared that she does not approve of the sin that is happening, but recognizes that those who are sinning do not claim to be followers of Jesus.  She has chosen not to judge others for their actions and attitudes.  The organization isn’t doing anything wrong so she feels that God has called her to this place to BE JESUS to them.  Her desire is to love and serve others.  She has committed to speak the truth in love no matter what the cost.  She is committed to declaring a different way to live life because she wants the people who matter to her to recognize that following Jesus changes everything.

She is choosing not to run from a difficult situation and in doing so she is choosing to run to the hurting and broken.  She is risking her own reputation, because like Jesus she will be accused by the religious, for she is choosing to sit and eat with the sexually immoral, liars, and sinners.

I believe that Jesus would be proud of her.  I know I am.  And as I sit here and write this I am being inspired to love others as Jesus would.

Thanks for INSPIRING ME GIRL!  And I pray that God would continue to increase your husbands responsibility and influence because he is a great man of God.
