There is a song that I learned back in the days of Sunday School that declares Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Today I felt this more then ever.
I know this is going to sound crazy but this morning I woke up thinking about how I would live if I knew when I was going to die. If I knew I was going to die some where between the age of 33-40 how would I live the next 7 1/2 years. What would I do with my time? Who would I spend it with? How would I pray? This perspective guided most of my day.
So the first thing I did was pray. I prayed for my neighbors, for my community of faith, and that God would guide every step of my day. I feel like God answered my prayer. My day was filled with ups and downs. One moment I felt like I was being hit with a ton of bricks the next moment filled with Joy.
A prayer that I prayed yesterday based off Psalms 34:1-8 also helped guide me. I will not focus on my circumstances but I will pursue you and be happy knowing that my hearts desire is to live for your GLORY!
Although today had its highs and lows I feel like “This was the day that the Lord made” and He allowed me to participate in what He was doing in the lives of others. I celebrated with some. Wanted to cry with others. And my own heart was breaking in the midst of this day. But I saw God’s hand at work.
So tomorrow, I want to say “This is the Day that my Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad”, no matter what circumstances come my way, I will be happy because I know my hearts desire is to live for Your Glory and nothing is going to stop me from pursuing you.
MAY GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU PURSUE HIM TODAY.
