A part of the problem or solution?

As I begin to call York home, I have had many eye opening conversations about the Church of York and the shape it is in. The past several months I have met so many people from religious backgrounds. It has me wondering “how can a city and county that has so many Churched people be in the condition it is?”

You know what I have found.  The Church is actually part of the problem.  We have become people who know all about God but are lives have not been transformed.  Just today I meet with two young women who were quoting me scriptures left and right, but their lives are a wreck.  Honestly my heart broke. They had a form of godliness, but their hearts seemed hard.

I’ve meet more then a few people who are scarred to death of the City.  They have nothing good to say about our public schools.  And they are pulling out.  But if we really believe what we say we believe shouldn’t we be jumping in?   Shouldn’t we become part of the solution?  I have no idea how God is going to use me to impact this City and County but I am jumping.  I am going to be part of  the solution.

So right now I am focused on building relationships.  I am getting to know neighbors, business men and women, local non profits, and government officials.  I am not an expert, but I having a willing heart and I believe that my God is the solution.

  1. I think the body of Christ doesn’t live the joy of New Life In Christ ! Maybe they don’t know it !

  2. We must give up our will for His will in Us ! That when the joy is overflowing !
